About Me

Hello, I am Kim,  founder of Simplyfairies Papercrafts.

I have been crafty all my life, making soft furnishings, ceramics with my own kiln and now card making.

I started making my own hand made cards in 2002 when my husband had an accident and I had to care for him full-time, which I still do to this day.

I gave up my Ceramic Making, which I used to do in my shed, to a hobby I could do in the house.

I won Card Maker of the Year in a National Magazine in 2007 and runner up Paper crafter of the year in the same year with their sister magazine. Back then it was only making for fun.

This led to me teaching classes and then I found Stampin Up! and haven’t looked back since.

20memmemepicked as a Why Simplyfairies ?

The name came from my ceramic days – I made my own fairies and cherubs and I hand painted them and sold to friends and local small businesses.

When I started making cards, I used to hand cut fairies and make cards and pictures, hence the Simplyfairies name.

Where I am at now!

I have been an Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator since 2009 and I signed up so that I could get the big packs of card stock in single colours that I needed to run my classes. The co- ordination of the products just blew me away.  I didn’t plan on making it a business, just to make sure I always had the colours I needed on hand, but it made sense to sign up for the discount.

And here I am years later with the same customers from back in 2007, coming to my classes and others I have met along the way.  We have become fabulous friends and I don’t know where I would have been without them.

My business has grown over the years as have my class attendees, and team.  I am proud to have a fabulous business full of wonderful like-minded people and that I can work around my commitments to Paul, my husband.

The highlight of my business is seeing my customers making their projects and being really proud of what they have made, no matter the experience they have.  I welcome Beginner, Casual or Avid crafters alike.

I love getting together for events or a cuppa and a chat with my team.  They are fun and enthusiastic and it’s a pleasure to help them on their way in their hobby or business path.

I am often called Mumma Fairie by the team, and I am one proud Mumma Fairie!

My Achievements

In my time as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I have earned multiple Incentive trips, Thailand, Greece, Maui just to name some.

I have had the amazing pleasure to be picked as a team member on the Stampin Up! Artisan Team for 2022 & 2024.

In 2018 I was awarded #6  in the Country Overall, and #7 in 2019 and #8 in 2020 for my performance.  I was also awarded #3 in Leadership in 2020 – that was a very proud moment for me.

Whilst I have been awarded in the top 10 for the last three years in other categories, I also was awarded Globally two years running too, but they are not a patch on becoming #3 in Leadership. That I call my greatest achievement by far. I am forever grateful for my fabulous team.

  • The statements above represent my individual accomplishment, and do not reflect the typical Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. This accomplishment required a lot of hard work and effort on my part and less than 1% of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators achieve this.
